In the framework of SINFONIA more than 1,000 apartments were refurbished, about 400 in the demo city of Bolzano and about 600 apartments in Innsbruck. In total, the refurbished area makes up more than 100,000 m². Among the implemented measures in the apartments are the change of windows, the installation of a ventilation system and the adaptation of heating systems.

Refurbishments of lived-in buildings require innovative strategies and methods in order to achieve the necessary acceptance on the part of the tenants. For closer information on challenges, potential solutions and lessons learnt related to the involvement of tenants consult the section tenants.
